The use of web quest technologies in teaching English to younger schoolchildren

Currently, quest technologies are actively used not only in the entertainment area, but also in the field of education. One of the varieties is web quest technologies. The authors of this method B. Dodge and T. March define their development as a model or educational struc-
ture that relies on resources/hyperlinks posted on the Internet. The article attempts to analyze the effectiveness of the use of web quest technologies in teaching English to younger schoolchil-dren. During the experimental work, which was carried out on the basis of the Vladivostok secondary general school No. 74 among the third grade students studying at the educational and methodical complex O.V. Afnasyeva, I.V. Mikheeva "Rainbow English". The learning web quest was developed on the platform learningapps.org. The paper provides some examples of exercises, the student evaluation criteria, as well as the results of the experimental work. The data obtained indicate an improvement in the knowledge of schoolchildren, which allows us to conclude about the effectiveness of using the technology in teaching this age group. The object of the study is web quest technologies in the educational process, the subject of the study is the use of these technologies in teaching English to elementary school students.
